University of Leeds Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Service User and Carer Reference Group
The name for this group is Everybody’s Voice which incorporates what this group is about: for the expertise of service users to form an central part of the Leeds Clinical Psychology Training Programme and for service users, carers, trainees and staff to work together to facilitate the learning and development of trainees.
Membership
Membership is open to all who are passionate about service user and carer involvement. As a minimum the group consists of:
- Two staff members from the academic and clinical strands of the course.
- One trainee representative from each year group.
- At least 3 service user representatives.
Additional people who express an interest may also be invited to join the group.
Responsibilities of Everybody’s Voice
- To offer advice and make recommendations for meaningful service user and carer involvement across all aspects of Leeds clinical psychology programme: teaching, clinical practice, research and selection. This will involve working closely with all other course committees.
- To report to and advise the Programme Management Committee on matters concerning development of service user and carer involvement in the training course.
- To liaise with other service users and carers – individuals and organisations – to increase the range of perspectives, and different viewpoints on specific issues and to challenge assumptions.
- To liaise and share learning with other clinical psychology training programmes, GTiCP involvement subgroup, DCP Experts by Experience committee, service user/carer organisations and other professionals.
Minutes will be produced after each meeting and circulated to all group members, (including trainees and members of all relevant committees). A regular newsletter will also be produced.
Frequency of meetings: Every 6-8 weeks with a review meeting on a 6 monthly basis.
