Clinical Supervisors

Placement Handbook

The Placement Handbook outlines expectations for trainees and Clinical Supervisors. It covers placement setup, supervision standards, competency development, and academic requirements. It serves as a comprehensive guide to ensure quality training, regulatory compliance, and professional growth throughout the programme.

Placement paperwork is completed in PebblePad

The following sections of PebblePad need to be completed by Clinical Supervisors:

Mid-Placement Visit (MPV)

  • Mid-placement assessment by the clinical supervisor (in the PAF)

 

End of Placement Visit (EPV)

  • End of placement assessment by the clinical supervisor (in the PAF)
  • Overall evaluation (in the audit of standards tab in the PAF).
  • Go to the supervisor sign-off tab and complete the relevant placement number (in the Therapy Competency Logbook).

Please remember to release your feedback to the trainee.

View an example of the Placement assessment Form and Therapy Competency Logbook. These may be out of date for the cohort you are supervising but will give you an idea of what to expect.

A detailed video guide on using PebblePad for Clinical Supervisors

This video gives Clinical Supervisors an overview of what Pebblepad is and how to use it to complete the Placement Paperwork.

Please note that the Programme in Clinical Psychology use method 1 in this guide. Trainees will not be able to manually share a link to their placement paperwork.
